TITLE: DEAF AND HARD OF HEARING INTERPRETER
QUALIFICATIONS:
- The ability and desire to work with special needs students.
- Must participate in an Interpreter Training Program.
- Must participate in an official Interpreter Evaluation Assessment.
- The willingness to work as a team member with a variety of individuals and take directions from supervisor(s).
- Must have, or be able to obtain, and maintain a valid Kansas driver's.
- Must have and maintain a dependable means of transportation.
- Ability to lift as required by job.
CERTIFICATE/LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:
Must maintain Interpreting skills at a qualifying level from one of the state approved programs.

JOB GOAL:
To assist the DHH teacher in instructional and non-instructional activities that will lead toward meeting the students' educational needs.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the implementation of educational programs for students under the direct supervision of a licensed teacher.
- Provide support for activities outside of school setting (field trips, open house, parent meetings, school programs, etc.).
- Participate in available paraprofessional training and in-service necessary to meet KSDE and local guidelines.
- Assist in the preparation in instructional materials, collecting of data, completion of forms, assist in evaluation, and other such duties as may be assigned.
- Maintain confidential status of all student data.
- Responsible for maintaining the physical ability to sign.
- Maintain proper license/certificate.
- Perform any other duties as directed.
