Qualifications:

Experience/interest in working with individuals who have various disabilities.
Ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues. 

Demonstrate skills in data entry and management, word processing and spreadsheets.

Training and/or experience in technology.

The willingness to work as a team member with a variety of individuals and take direction from supervisors.

Must have and maintain a dependable means of transportation.

 

Certificate/License Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalency.

A valid Kansas Driver’s License.

 

Reports To:

Western KS Assistive Technology Coordinator/Facilitator

Director of Special Education and/or Designee

Executive Director, NKESC

  

Job Goal:

To effectively provide support and services to qualifying clients serviced by NKESC/Assistive Technology for Kansans Program.

 

Performance Responsibilities:

  1. Network with service providers, clients, and/or families to identify appropriate assistive technology referrals and coordinating services.
  2. Review assistive technology referrals and arrange for and/or provide assessments as indicated by clients needs.
  3. Assist in securing assistive technology equipment.
  4. Provide training, information and follow-up for assistive technology (AT) equipment and/or software.
  5. Collect and enter data as required by department and provide reports as requested by supervisors.
  6. Provide information and funding options for AT Services and equipment as requested by your supervisor.
  7. Provide AT trainings and public awareness activities.
  8. Perform any other duties as directed.
  9. Plan to work out of the Oakley office while providing services to clients in Western Kansas (including twice a week assignment to Southwest Kansas i.e Garden City and Dodge City). 

 

Physical Abilities:

  1. Ability to lift as required by job.
  2. Exhibits manual dexterity to dial telephone, enter data into a computer, see and read a computer screen, hear and understand speech at typical office level.
  3. Ability to move between buildings, schools, homes and community.

 

Terms of Employment: Memorandum of Employment Agreement.

 

Evaluation: The performance of this position will be evaluated by Executive Director and/or Designee as per board policy.
